Well, embarrassingly I must admit that this new addition to my blog about my most recent Chapel Hill Wedding Photography experience, has been coaxed and brought on by my adorably sweet and very much in love couple, Bryan & Megan.
Both are graduates of UNC and if this wedding did not bleed Carolina blue and get the point across that it was an all Tarheel’s pride based wedding, than nothing could! The couple solidified their pending nuptials when Bryan proposed to Megan with a brick paver on UNC’s campus. Romantic? I think so!
Meg White, as she’s affectionately called by Bryan wore a really cool modern-laced gown by Ulla Maija and carried a gorgeous bouquet by the talented girls at Tre Bella Florist. They made plans for a first look to be held in the courtyard of the Carolina Inn. Bryan’s anxiety for seeing his bride for the first time was palpable and upon first glance my clients’ emotions ran high. It was endearing to see the exchange of sentiment. Some sweet pictures of the Carolina Inn first look are below.
Ceremony took place at the Forest Theater in Chapel Hill; a first for me. Such a great outdoor space(albeit hot that day!) and they filled it with their 200+ guests in attendance. Post ceremony gave way to a lively and music filled parade of all friends and family as they marched their way back to Top O’the Hill’s Great Room lead by Bryan and Megan. The liveliness ensued as the reception celebrations got under way as guests danced and enjoyed the awesome music of the Atlanta based band, Mo’ Sol . WOW! Highly recommend them as they jammed out some Motown, hip-hop, rock,……you name it and they had EVERYONE dancing!!
The couple passed on the traditional confection of cake and opted for chocolate&peanut butter parfaits & something a bit more refreshing and thirst quenching; Pleasant Pops – gourmet popsicles. I am currently conflicted with the refreshing aspect of them and I say this with a smirk on my face. I had eye-balled the cooler of them, midway through the reception and thought to myself that if there were any left by the time I was to leave, nothing would quench the day. With gear in tow and curbside with my assistant I feverishly tore off the plastic in what I thought was going to be the quintessential ‘cooling off” of the day. And only on first bite did I experience the cool……….as it quickly turned into a fiery burn!!!! MANGO-CHILE…….Whaaaat? I had to laugh. Time to go home for a shower!
Many blessings to the two of you, Bryan & Megan! Always an honor to be such an intimate and sacred part of someone’s day!
