Here is a preview from an amazing senior student session that I’ve had with Brenna, who btw is just absolutely gorgeous! One of the location shots was an amazingly colorful field on the drive home from the studio. A sea of translucent green. The fields in Johnston County are fabulous! I had fun watching Brenna and her mother during their ordering session – there were so many great shots (because Brenna is gorgeous inside and out) but one in particular elicited a sigh every time. That’s the one!

Best of luck this year and always, Brenna!

Let’s kick off the fall wedding photography showcase (and the return of the blog) with Dana & John’s October wedding at The Angus Barn. The details were amazing; from the invitations to the guest photo booth, Dana and John wanted their wedding to reflect who they are as a couple. One of the most touching details was their choice of best man, John’s thirteen year old son, Ryan.

“Ryan is a huge part of our lives and we wanted this day to be special for him, too.” – Dana

According to Dana, once they selected the Angus Barn for the venue, the rest just “fell together”. No wedding just falls together, but with the help of a professional floral designer, confectioner, wedding planner, musicians, videographer and a professional wedding photographer, everything did come together into the wedding of their dreams.

Many blessings to the two of you, Dana & John! Always an honor to be such an intimate and sacred part of someone’s day.

Well, to say I’ve known Casey a long time is an understatement. The daughter of my dear friend Lisa is a Senior and we celebrated in their stomping grounds, A Beaufort Senior session.

I met Casey when she was a mere 9months old on a cold NC night after working with Lisa at Tony’s Oyster Bar. We instantly hit it off and we’ve been friends since. Some of my earliest experiments in photography and testing my wings was with her daughters. It’s amazing how quickly the time flies.

The sweet little blonde, has always had an endearing, naive way about her. Her little smirky smile on her face would often run into a soft giggle. She’s been such a neat kid to be around and now to see  her emerging as a young woman……..well, I sort of feel like Mom here writing this! I just know that the years with your kids being under your care are so short lived and it just brings me right back home to my own two kiddos growing up.

Believe in yourself, Casey!!

Well, embarrassingly I must admit that this new addition to my blog about my most recent Chapel Hill Wedding Photography experience, has been coaxed and brought on by my adorably sweet and very much in love couple, Bryan & Megan.

Both are graduates of UNC and if this wedding did not bleed Carolina blue and get the point across that it was an all Tarheel’s pride based wedding, than nothing could! The couple solidified their pending nuptials when Bryan proposed to Megan with a brick paver on UNC’s campus. Romantic? I think so!

Meg White, as she’s affectionately called by Bryan wore a really cool modern-laced gown by Ulla Maija and carried a gorgeous bouquet by the talented girls at Tre Bella Florist. They made plans for a first look to be held in the courtyard of the Carolina Inn. Bryan’s anxiety for seeing his bride for the first time was palpable and upon first glance my clients’ emotions ran high. It was endearing to see the exchange of sentiment. Some sweet pictures of the Carolina Inn first look are below.

Ceremony took place at the Forest Theater in Chapel Hill; a first for me. Such a great outdoor space(albeit hot that day!) and they filled it with their 200+ guests in attendance. Post ceremony gave way to a lively and music filled parade of all friends and family as they marched their way back to Top O’the Hill’s Great Room lead by Bryan and Megan. The liveliness ensued as the reception celebrations got under way as guests danced and enjoyed the awesome music of the Atlanta based band, Mo’ Sol . WOW! Highly recommend them as they jammed out some Motown, hip-hop, rock,……you name it and they had EVERYONE dancing!!

The couple passed on the traditional confection of cake and opted for chocolate&peanut butter parfaits & something a bit more refreshing and thirst quenching; Pleasant Pops – gourmet popsicles. I am currently conflicted with the refreshing aspect of them and I say this with a smirk on my face. I had eye-balled the cooler of them, midway through the reception and thought to myself that if there were any left by the time I was to leave, nothing would quench the day. With gear in tow and curbside with my assistant I feverishly tore off the plastic in what I thought was going to be the quintessential ‘cooling off” of the day. And only on first bite did I experience the cool……….as it quickly turned into a fiery burn!!!! MANGO-CHILE…….Whaaaat? I had to laugh. Time to go home for a shower!

Many blessings to the two of you, Bryan & Megan! Always an honor to be such an intimate and sacred part of someone’s day!

It’s always an honor as a Wedding Photographer in Raleigh in a very competitive market to have our work chosen to be featured in publication such as Southern Bride & Groom Magazine .Celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, the trendy NC magazine is always a great ‘go-to’ resource for any bride in the NC wedding market.

We’re thrilled to announce that our September 2011 clients Dave & Jill Padilla have made the cover! Not a surprise, Jill & Dave are an adorably cute couple. Their energy and love for one another was palpable as the couple rode from their church to their reception location, Solas in Raleigh, on the back of Jill’s Dad’s 1964 Cadillac chauffeured by none other than her dad.

The couple met through mutual friends and it wasn’t too long after that Dave proposed amongst the presence of a family meet and greet.

Their wedding day proved to quite vibrant, fresh, beautiful, and warm very much like the personalities of my clients. Their reception proved no different. It was quite the nightclub scene at Solas; lively with lots of dancing. FUN was had by all

Warmest wishes to Jill & Dave for a healthy and happy marriage!

Thanks to these awesome vendors who made the day phenomenal:

Reception: Solas

Florals: Fresh Affairs

Cake: Swank Cake Design

Gown: Alexia’s Bridal Boutique by Vera Wang
