Welcome to the world, Baby Madeline, or Maddie as Mom & Dad are calling her. Mike and Marie are the proud parents and also happen to be one of my former couples.
We had a sweet little session. Some close intimate little pictures with Mom&Dad. Some diva tutu pictures. That’s right! A one week old owned this tutu. She look so cute with her little feet sticking out the back of all of that fluffy tulle. And we finished off the session with some natural light shots of her just snuggled in a towel.
Newborns are one of those things in photography that I find most challenging to shoot. I’m working it out. The more I do them the more I’m getting comfortable with them.
Bring on the babies.

What an absolutely gorgeous day for a shoot. And I was worried about it being cold. I attribute the 70 weather to . . .well . . .just one of the perks of living in NC. You can have those 70 degree days in March when earlier in the week it has snowed. Crazy!
At any rate, Tamiya was a bird of a different feather for me. I approached her Mom because I had just set my $50 Calling all Mom’s and Babes photography promo about a week prior in hopes to freshen up my portfolio. They sat right behind me at the circus and I couldn’t help but notice Tamiya’s gorgeous deep eyes and pixie-like face. Just too adorable.
We were in touch shortly after I had pitched my idea and last Friday we had our shoot. A little unresponsive at first, Tamiya quickly warmed up to my fine rendition of “The Intsy, Wintsy Tamiya”. Yeah, I pull out all the stops to connect with the kiddos. I really strive for the photo sessions to be a playdate with me.
In the end, I got an excited email from Tanasha. Very happy with the pics. Here are some of my favs below.

Well, the hair fairy sure didn’t visit this lil’ babe yet. And what she lacks in the hair department, she makes up for in the facial expression department.
What a happy baby Babe Savannah is and a really good sport. All Mom Jennifer asked for was one tummy shot from her. Apparently she hates laying on her tummy as I believe most babies do, but she held out long enough to get Mom’s shot.
Adorned in a gorgeous sea toned tutu(purchased on Etsy.com) which beautifully complimented her sharp blue eyes, our session began a little rough, but it ironed out smoothly. Check out the very sweet pics I captured of Babe Savannah.

I literally had flashbacks shooting this two month old session for Mom, Anne Marie. As I laid Leah down on my damask cubed ottoman, I took note of how very much she looked like my daughter Avery at that age, hair and all.
She was such a sweet and laid back baby. We were sure to get her to sleep during the session. With the heat cranked high and us chillin’ in a rather dark room, we waited for about a 1/2 hour for Leah to retreat to restful bliss. She had other things on her mind. There’s so much in this world to take in and she was not having it. Nonetheless, we got some very sweet baby portraits.
Congrats to Mom and daughter!

Could this Babe get any cuter?! Stephanie came to me by way of a Vintage Vixen session and during the session I discovered that she had an adorable 15mos. old daughter, Audrey. I informed her of my special $50 session that I have going on(see my Calling All Mommies &Babes post on this blog) and she jumped on it.
A special offer, I’m hoping to freshen up my baby portfolio in light of the opportunity of a hospital display.
I knew I wanted to do some really fun baby girlie pictures and to accomplish this, a tutu is a must!
I found a few artists on Etsy.com whom were selling their wares: this particular tutu came from Mom2twogals. Check her work out on Etsy.com. Love this website!
Back to Audrey. Well, she was a great sport, but one thing I didn’t realize until editing was how much she actually hated the tutu. Her little arms floated well above the poofey tutu and her facial expression, although not in these photos was of complete discontent. Bubbles helped bring out her sense of delight and also us being excited and clapping for her. She barely cried though until the end. Truly a perfect little baby in every sense of the word, temperament and beauty. She takes after her Mom! You should see Mom’s VV pictures! Whoa! That’s another blog to come : P

My former bride and groom, Crystal and Scott, are totally adorable, so it was no surprise to me that their son Tyler was totally adorable. We literally did this one year photo session on the anniversary of his birthday. He’s the happiest baby. This babe only fussed once and it was when they took him off of the vintage tractor. . . still made for a cute picture and he loved that tractor.
We rounded out our session with a mini birthday celebration. Crystal had brought along a red velvet cupcake for him to poke around with. He was less than interested and didn’t like being messy. Still some cute pictures.
Happy Birthday Tyler and congrats again to Scott & Crystal for a job well done!

About sums it up. I had such a great time with Caroline and Joshua (Crockett kids) as I often do with my littlest subjects. It’s such a friendly reminder of what it’s like to not have a care in the world and to just have fun.
Our session of fun took place at Friends Together Park in Cary, NC one of my favorites, nevermind my own kids’ favs and it often makes me question why we don’t have a fun place like this in our hometown; Clayton. We got down and dirty on tire swings, climbing structures, in sand, and with bubbles. Sided by a little sugary fix at the end, cupcakes from the local bakery. Time to go home with Mom. I write that with a smile.
