No, this is not an engagement session posting. It’s actually a long overdue posting of one of my Vintage Vixen sessions. Susie came equipped the day of her session with two bags of surprise art. Little did I know that a piece of Christian Loubouton’s soul ( or should I say ‘soles’) would adorn the feet of one of my vixens.
Lucky girl received two pairs of these works of art after her hubby found out that the very same red soled shoes are worn by Oprah. He special ordered the pairs in Vegas. Needless to say, at the lofty price of $1200 a pair, the shoes don’t get worn much. Susie paused during her session to tell me how she doesn’t want to scuff up the trademark red soles. Girl, I got your back with that one!
We had a fun time tossing some fresh pink petals on Susie as she hammed it up for her session. Susie looks forward to partaking in another Vintage Vixens session with me later this Spring. See girls, these sessions are fun and addictive. We spend thousands on our beauty, working out at the gym, spa treatments, enhancements(wink, wink), why wouldn’t we be taking glam pictures of ourselves in the prime of our lives?!

What was intended to be just a six year anniversary trip to Nashville, TN, ended in a surprise and teary-eyed proposal. Such is how the story goes for my sweet September couple who ironically enough are getting married on my anniversary this year.
Ben and Delia or BenDee as they affectionately call themselves spent the day with good friends seeing the city, checking out the local attractions, and listening to their favorite musician, Ben Folds formerly of the Ben Folds Five music group, perform.
The day winded down with a romantic date at Union Station, a refurbished old train station which played host to their dinner spot while in town; Prime 108. Dee was serenaded during their dinner by the strolling resident guitarist as per Ben’s request, with the song, Just the Way You Look Tonight. No, he didn’t propose there. Way too predictable. Instead this very suave, clever, and might I add romantic boyfriend of Dee’s arranged for a room for them on the 6th floor to keep in line with their sixth anniversary. Their suite door gave way to intense candlelight, rose petals on the floor, and a card with a flat jewelry box resting on it.
Upon reading the card, a note inside read, ‘Close your eyes and count to 10.’ Teary-eyed Dee did as the note said pausing to ask if she was counting too fast or too slow. At first glance and on 10, Dee opened her eyes to Ben down on one knee proposing with her now engagement ring.
They’ve set their wedding date for September 26th of this year at The Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC.
Below are scenes of their recent engagement session with me.

What an absolutely gorgeous day for a shoot. And I was worried about it being cold. I attribute the 70 weather to . . .well . . .just one of the perks of living in NC. You can have those 70 degree days in March when earlier in the week it has snowed. Crazy!
At any rate, Tamiya was a bird of a different feather for me. I approached her Mom because I had just set my $50 Calling all Mom’s and Babes photography promo about a week prior in hopes to freshen up my portfolio. They sat right behind me at the circus and I couldn’t help but notice Tamiya’s gorgeous deep eyes and pixie-like face. Just too adorable.
We were in touch shortly after I had pitched my idea and last Friday we had our shoot. A little unresponsive at first, Tamiya quickly warmed up to my fine rendition of “The Intsy, Wintsy Tamiya”. Yeah, I pull out all the stops to connect with the kiddos. I really strive for the photo sessions to be a playdate with me.
In the end, I got an excited email from Tanasha. Very happy with the pics. Here are some of my favs below.

Well, the hair fairy sure didn’t visit this lil’ babe yet. And what she lacks in the hair department, she makes up for in the facial expression department.
What a happy baby Babe Savannah is and a really good sport. All Mom Jennifer asked for was one tummy shot from her. Apparently she hates laying on her tummy as I believe most babies do, but she held out long enough to get Mom’s shot.
Adorned in a gorgeous sea toned tutu(purchased on Etsy.com) which beautifully complimented her sharp blue eyes, our session began a little rough, but it ironed out smoothly. Check out the very sweet pics I captured of Babe Savannah.
