Way too much fun going on here today and I’m a complete skeptic when it comes to Carolina snow days. For one, there’s always so much hype. Schools close before a flurry has fallen. People mad rush the stores to stockpile which to me is really funny. It’s not like it’s nuclear war or something. And I’ve noticed that when there is hype about a pending winter storm warning, little if nothing happens. And if something does happen, you can bet that the screwy NC climate and temps. will surely have it melted by noon.
Knowing this about what I’ve just said, I was blown away at 7:30 AM when I woke up to a winter wonderland. Formerly from NJ and schooled in Rochester, NY, it was a treat to be reminded of those days today.
It’s a little known fact, that I have a strong penchant for our fine-feathered friends. My little yardbirdies are well taken care of. I marveled today at how quickly all of my seed disappeared. I had to fill all of my feeders up to quell the frenzy. Nonetheless, I appreciated watching them and getting some snaps of them.
And my Burke; my child full of life. He was a skeptic walking out into the white padded coldness, but caught on quickly to the value of a snowball. He was definitely being mischievous and you can see it in his wild eyes. Our neighbors, Ryan, Chad, Chad’s Mom, Darlene along with Rich and one of my most favorite persons in the whole world, Miss Cathy joined us for an hour or so as we played. I must say that Darlene, whom I haven’t spoken to in over a year(not on purpose!) surprised me because no words were spoken when she greeted us. Just socked me with a big fat snowball! Caught me off-guard, but that’s what I love about good friends.
Burke accidentally knocked over Chad’s bike and was feeling bad as you can see in the next few pictures.
